Just To Remind You

You awoke as the first rays
Of light touched your eyelids
And you witnessed a miracle
As the sun burst forth over the mountain.
Then a light breeze stroked your cheeks...
Just to remind you.

Your heart was light as you
Wandered through the meadows.
You gazed at the snowcapped peaks
With wonder in your eyes.
Then the scent of wild flowers
Came sweetly to your nostrils...
Just to remind you.

Dark clouds moved quickly overhead
And blotted out the sun.
You prudently took cover under
The trees until the shower subsided.
Then a swaying branch released
A single drop of water onto your head...
Just to remind you.

You crested a small hill
And stopped again to rest.
You watched as the clouds
Fled over the far fields.
Then, arcing across the sky,
You saw a faint rainbow...
And you remembered that I love you.
